At Château Famaey we are proud to be a family business where the best of traditional winemaking is gracefully combined with a modern infrastructure and a philosophy based on respect for nature resulting in a wine of supreme quality at an affordable price. Importantly, our wine is bottled on the property, ensuring an honest product of very high quality. Furthermore, the additives to the wine are kept to an absolute minimum, resulting in a very natural and therefore healthy wine. Produced without the use of chemicals, yet with modern technology, our wine has all the characteristics which make a Cahors wine unique.

We are two Flemish men, Luc Luyckx and Marc Van Antwerpen, who are passionate about Cahors wine. In 2000, we took over an existing vineyard and renamed it Château Famaey.

Immediatly after, we began to invest in everything related to the quality of the terroir (land) and the wine. The soil is worked with a maximum of respect for nature in order to obtain a product as natural as possible!

The vinification is done by Maarten Luyckx in collaboration with  the best professionals of our region. The richness of the grapes, the « terroir » and the way of producing offers us a lot of international and national recognition in several guides and medals. Château Famaey exports his wine to more than 20 countries all over the world.
